Accounting Manager/Controller

SRI-Rochlin Construction Services JV LLC is looking for an Accounting Manager/Controller to join our team that is excited about construction, the affordable housing industry, and working closely with a small team of project managers. This is a full-time, overtime exempt position located in our main office in north Bellevue, eligible for health/vision/dental coverage after 60 days and two-weeks paid vacation after 1 year of employment. You will be responsible for working directly with the Manager of Construction to organize, input and report on financials for the company. As business is growing in 2021, this position may be in charge of hiring and directing a small team of financial analysts/bookkeepers.

You should be comfortable with using Quickbooks Online but interested in learning new programs, as we have begun migration to Jonas Premier Construction software for an integrated accounting/project management experience. You will be expected to perform all transactions related to the general ledger in Jonas’ automated system as well as continue payroll processing thru Quickbooks Online.

The candidate should be self-motivated to improve operations and solution-oriented when problems arise. We are looking for someone who is comfortable switching gears when the needs of the small business dictate it. The person in this position must be comfortable responding to various needs of field and remote staff regarding payroll and benefits. This person will work closely with construction project managers to ensure all payments and billings are timely and accurate per subcontract and vendor agreements. Ensuring all general contractor licensing requirements and compliance are met is also important to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly payroll for 20-40 employees using Quickbooks Online. (Occasionally jobs require certified payroll.)
  • Manage employer’s worker’s compensation account
  • Human Resources responsibilities such as managing employee benefits, health insurance, time-tracking, and managing sick/vacation leave
  • Collect and input all payables and receivables into accounting system. Manage job-costing. Prepare weekly and monthly check runs.
  • Periodic filings for ESD, B&O taxes, DSHS, federal payroll tax, etc.
  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.
  • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
  • Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
  • Streamline financial and business operations as part of the administrative team
  • Interface with an office administration team as well as field construction team
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure sub-contractors and vendors are paid accurately per their contract.
  • Work requires you to be self-directed

Qualifications:

  • Detail and deadline-oriented, but able to prioritize and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
  • Self-motivated and can work independently.
  • Solution-oriented
  • Previous experience with construction accounting including job-costing
  • Proven contract management experience
  • A.A or B.A. in Accounting or 4+ years commensurate experience
  • Bilingual or working knowledge of Spanish desirable, but not required
