Job Purpose Summary:The Document Controller is a member of the Quality Team reporting directly to the Quality Director.

The Document Controller is responsible for intake, handling, registration, organization and storage of internal and external documents for Adams Group, Grain, Trucking, and Vegetable Oils.Food Safety Policy:Adams Group is committed to producing and distributing high quality products through adherence to industry and regulatory standards.

You will be encouraged and required to notify supervision about actual or potential food safety issues.

Everyone at Adams is involved in delivering safe food within your scope of work you will be empowered to act to resolve food safety issues.Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Support of quality systems including Quality Assurance and Quality ControlUnderstand food regulatory requirements (HACCP, 21 CFR Part 121, FSMA)Maintain supplier approval program for AVOComplete or assist investigations into customer complaints, returns, and internal incidentsUpdating, maintaining, and reporting on training status and documentationResponding to customer documentation requests accurately and timelyEnsuring all company SOPs and Forms are current revision.

Writing SOPs as needed.Handling intake, scanning, verification, and storing documents.Filing and archiving relevant documentation including obsolete documents.Retrieving files for other employees, customers and auditors when needed.Designing templates for documents, file types, and document databases.Checking and editing documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance.Controlling the flow of documents in and out of the Quality, Safety, and HR departments (others as needed).Reporting errors or developments regarding document storage.Ensuring the secure destruction and disposal of sensitive documents.Maintaining the security of confidential documents.Provides meaningful reporting and analysis that interprets data and communicates information that is useful for decision makingPerforms other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Experience in food production, especially Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher and Halal requirementsAn excellent grasp of Microsoft Office programs and ERP/MRP systems.Top-class typing and report writing skills.Time-oriented approach to handling queries and tasks.Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong Communication, Collaboration and Teamwork SkillsSense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines (self-directed).

Position Requirements:Legally authorized to work in the job posting countryAvailable to work overtime including some weekendsWilling to work in any of our operating locations (Arbuckle and Woodland)Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
