Principal AI/ML Strategy Architect

The Microsoft Azure Edge Devices, Platforms & Services (AEDPLS) team is chartered with building devices and experiences that help our ecosystem of partners and customers leverage Azure to accelerate their creation and adoption of the next generation of connected, intelligent, and autonomous edge solutions.

We work across a wide range of industries, partner types, device form factors, and service technologies to enable new application scenarios, provide in-depth business insights and safeguard the security and privacy of our customer/partners data.

We are looking for a experienced AI/ML engineer to join us as a Principal AI/ML Strategy Architect, and Technical Advisor reporting to AEDPLS CTO.

The AI/ML Strategy architect will lead the definition and convergence of complex and novel AI technologies for the edge.

The product architectures will define state-of-the
– art edge computing AI lifecycle technologies for a range of devices from x64 to MCU that will be powered by cloud technologies.

The scope of the role is broad, designing client and cloud tools and services that will power a wide array of new AI/ML services and edge AI acceleration technologies to create models and solutions that support a variety of sensors and devices such as intelligent cameras, intelligent audio, intelligent gateways, and PC/Phone form factors.

The architect will also have responsibility for incubation of new AI/ML technologies from proof of concept through integration into products for mass production and commercialization.

We are looking for someone with proficient technical communication skills with the ability to collaborate successfully across functional teams, including silicon, cloud services, development tools, hardware engineering, partnerships and core technology groups.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Azure Edge AI/ML E2E platforms and solutions , across many form factors and devices including sensor devices such as cameras, gateways, PCs and Phone formfactors.
  • Identify and evaluate next-generation edge AI/ML acceleration software technologies suitability for incorporation into our product portfolio.
  • Engage with internal product teams, architects, and business leaders to understand and inform AI/ML lifecycle roadmaps.
  • Work closely with external partners to explore co-engineering efforts and new designs.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications
    • In-depth understanding of AI and ML acceleration in X86/64 and Arm architectures.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the technology industry, with focus on AI/ML .
    • Experience with Computer vision and/or NLP and neural networks
    • Familiarity with Cloud technologies
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals across functional teams and ability to meet or exceed expected timelines for projects.
    • Demonstrated ability to uncover systemic issues and drive failure analysis to root cause swiftly and accurately.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
