Principal Scientist – Immune-Oncology and Cell Therapy The Discovery Biology team is looking for an experienced and driven drug discovery and pre-clinical development scientist to help advance our portfolio of anti-tumor cell therapies and immune-oncology products.

The successful candidate will have expertise in tumor associated T/NK cell biology, the tumor microenvironment, target identification and validation and a track record of success in cell therapy or immune-oncology drug discovery.

This scientist will work in a highly collaborative, fast paced, innovative environment working with multiple teams across the company.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Target identification and validation of novel targets for cell therapy and / or cell engager technologies – including development of novel strategies for tumor specific targeting.

Application of knowledge of T/NK cell biology including activation pathways, signaling pathways and antigen-specific driven differentiation to identify and validate novel targets to enhance cell therapy and cell engagers in the tumor microenvironment.

Experience in development of antibodies / bispecifics, small molecules, and / or autologous / allogeneic cell therapy products from discovery to development candidate nomination.

Identification of tumor microenvironment specific restrictions on immune cell infiltration and function and development of novel concepts to overcome these using cell engineering, biologic and small molecule therapeutic approaches Designing and implementing critical studies required to drive hypothesis-driven research Conceive and develop novel in vitro assays/models to evaluate cell therapy efficacy in the context of the tumor microenvironment.

Project leadership across multiple projects / roles in a matrixed environment and obtaining alignment across different functional groups to drive decision making Anticipate the need for contingencies and demonstrate flexibility through development of alternative strategies Present project and strategic framework updates and recommendations to leadership teams across the company.

Provide supervision of junior scientists along with leadership, mentorship and shaping the culture of the team.

Building constructive relationships across the organization to achieve the goals of the organization through leadership roles on cross-functional/divisional teams Qualifications: Ph.D.

in immunology, immune-oncology or tumor immunology with at least 3 years of successful postdoctoral experience as demonstrated by strong publication record plus at least 8 years of experience in an industry setting or a M.S.

with a minimum of 14 years of relevant work experience or B.S.

with minimum of 16 years of relevant work experience in relevant fields Experience with immune and oncology related cell types including subset of T cells, NK cells, macrophages, MDSCs, DCs, fibroblasts, transformed tumor cells Experience with technologies typically employed to assess immune cell function including but not limited to Luminex, MSD, IncuCyte-based assays, multi-parameter flow cytometry, T/NK cell activation assays, T/NK cell proliferation analysis, imaging technologies Demonstration of in-depth, scientific-directed, innovative thinking Self-motivated and focused with project management-oriented thinking; able to work on multiple projects in a matrix environment Ability to work well as both team member and as individual contributor is essential Good communication skills for cross-functional interactions as well as upper management interactions; excellent oral presentation skills are critical Requires strong organizational skills to ensure thorough and timely documentation of experiments, including those of their direct reports, and preparation of data for compiling reports Experience leading projects through building/leading cross-functional teams Supervisory experience is required Bristol-Myers Squibb recognizes the importance of balance and flexibility in our work environment.
