Human Resources Business Partner

BGIS North America

This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted February 18, 2021.

The Human Resources Business Partner will support BGIS’ talent acquisition and retention efforts by ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new hires.

Purpose Statement:   Consults with people leaders to strategically plan our talent and to ensure fair, compliant, consistent, culturally appropriate treatment of our team members.  Seeks to develop integrated solutions to ensure business continuity, helps BGIS accomplish its goals through our team members.



  • Partners with business unit leaders to understand the talent requirements of their business plan and help them plan, manage and retain their team members.
  • Develops strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Works closely with people leaders and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
  • Makes presentations to a variety of audiences; act as technical subject matter expert.
  • Effectively envisions, develops, and implements new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.
  • Manages multiple business units in multiple locations with conflicting priorities.

Performance Management

  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manages and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal department as needed/required.
  • Identifies development and recruiting needs and link the business leader to those services on the HR team for appropriate solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • BA in Business, Human Resources or equivalent or equivalent work experience required.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws required.
  • PHR/SPHR or equivalent experience required.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in the Human Resources field resolving complex employee relation issues and management experience required.
  • Excellent consulting skills, client management and business literacy skills required.
  • Strong conflict management interpersonal and negotiation skills required.
  • Knowledge and experience with HRIS required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred
