About the Payroll Manager Role Upperline is looking for a Payroll Manager to manage the payroll process and payroll related needs across the company in multiple states to ensure day to day operations run smoothly and effective processes are being utilized to support our employees and managers.

To be successful at this position you need to be extremely detail oriented, self-motivated, have exceptional analytical skills, and be very adept at Excel.

The Payroll Manager will need to have a broad knowledge payroll processing, state and federal pay laws, and tax setup.

Upperline is looking for strong performers who are comfortable in a fast-paced environment, who can handle tasks both big and small, and who create a high volume of work but are also able to think strategically.

This position will report to the Sr.

Director of HR and will be based at our Corporate Nashville location with the opportunity for hybrid/remote work.

What Youll Do Prepare, process, and review payroll for 6 multi-state companies (800 employees) on a bi-weekly basis Work flexible hours during payroll week to ensure timely processing of payroll Process garnishments, benefit orders, etc in a timely fashion Assist with data integrity of HR transactional processes in the HRIS system (Hires, Terms, Position Changes, Pay Rate Changes, etc) Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices Work with employees and managers on timesheet completion Register state and local taxes Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures to make recommendations and implement changes leading to best-practice operations Complete year-end tax forms Oversee and review payroll payments and account reconciliations Assist in the Payroll strategy around newly acquired practices Resolve Pay Resolutions with HR partners Benefit and deduction reporting to other entities as needed Assist with other general HR and Accounting duties in downtime Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions Performs regular internal audits of payroll practices, deductions, and earnings Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors Payroll Manager Qualifications 3 years of progressive Human Resources Payroll/Benefits experience Bachelors Degree preferred Prior experience working in healthcare is a plus but not required Experience in high-growth or early-stage start-up is a plus Experience in Payroll systems is a must (Paylocity experience is strongly preferred) Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills Exceptional customer service orientation featuring empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interaction Job Type: Full-time s6Kx4VQB4B by Jobble
