HVAC Technician – Fire Suppression Systems

Description **HVAC Technician Fire Suppression Systems Spokane, WA** **_This recruitment will remain open until filled.

_** Under the supervision of the Maintenance Specialist 4, this position performs skilled journey level work installing, maintaining, repairing and testing of electrical and electronic systems in support of fire suppression systems, Energy Management and Control Systems (EMCS), and other environmental control systems.

Additionally, this position serves as the preventative maintenance program manager and is responsible for issuing and tracking preventative maintenance work orders.

Duties **_Fire suppression:_** Design, program, install, maintain, and repair and test computerized fire alarm signaling and control systems for multiple buildings.

**_ Energy Management and Control Systems (EMSC):_** Install and repair all related components in the EMCS, install conduits, switches, outlets, circuit breakers and wire line, low and high voltage circuits.

**Responsible to manage the preventative maintenance program and work orders.** * Serves as the lead to provide instruction, training, direction and productivity monitoring to staff performing preventative maintenance tasks.

Qualifications **REQUIRED** Two years of experience designing, programming, installing, maintaining, repairing and/or testing computerized fire suppression systems.

**DESIRED** *Certification:* * Limited Energy Systems Specialty License (06A).

*Experience:* * Performing journey level work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and/or HVAC systems.

* Managing a preventative maintenance program which included planning, scheduling, and/or coordinating preventative maintenance work.

* Working as a lead and/or supervisor assigning and monitoring the work of others.

*Knowledge of:* * Recurring work program functions as related to preventative maintenance, repair efforts, and inventory.

*Skills and Abilities to:* * Read plans and blueprints for buildings, infrastructure systems, equipment, etc.

Supplemental Information **Compensation:** Wage/salary depends on qualifications or rules of promotion.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT** **_Background Investigation:_** Must successfully complete the appropriate background checks required for employment.

Must be willing to sign releases of information and shall not have access to any investigative materials and files.

The processing of background checks can take up to six months post-employment.

Failure to successfully pass a background check may be cause for termination.

**_Driver’s License:_** 1.

Valid to drive in the State of Washington.

Must meet requirements of the REAL ID Act.

This is required for base access and will be required upon hire.

**_Military Facility:_** Willingness to work on a Military Controlled Access Installation.

**_Work Hours_: **A choice between a Tuesday through Friday (4/10 schedule): Monday
– Thursday (4/10 schedule): or Monday through Friday (5/8 schedule).

Actual hours will start no earlier than 6:00 am and end no later than 6:00 pm, and will include core business hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

**_Emergency Assignment:_** Upon activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) or Joint Field Office (JFO), incumbent may be required to work in an alternate location with rotating shifts, including weekends and evenings, in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment.

**_Travel:_** Occasional travel may be required up to 5%.
