Assisted Living CNA

This is a Full-time position in Des Moines, WA posted September 21, 2021.

The Assisted Living CNA assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to residents and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.


  1. Assists residents with showers and bathing and ensures residents receive baths/showers when scheduled.
  2. Responds to RER alerts in the Assisted Living department and Terrace building as directed, assess the situation and take the appropriate action.
  3. Assist resident with personal hygiene, grooming, dress, and toileting. Report all changes in physical or mental conditions.
  4. Takes and records resident’s temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height and blood pressure.
  5. Assists residents with laundry. Answer RER, anticipate residents’ needs and make regular rounds checking on the health and safety of residents.
  6. Attends and participates in educational training sessions and department meetings as required.
  7. Performs all other duties as assigned.


Education Background

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • CNA certification required

Special Training/Skills

  • Dementia Training Certificate
  • Mental Health Training Certificate
  • Food Handlers Card
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Computer Skills to include MS Office and Electronic Health Records Keeping Systems.

Work Experience

  • 6 months CNA experience preferred.
  • Prior demonstrated work in an Assisted Living facility desired.


  • Ability to read and write English to accomplish charting and record keeping. Must be able to understand written orders and procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to walk, sit, and bend to assist residents.


HIGH RISK: Likely to have frequent occupational exposure with patient’s blood or other body fluids. May require protective equipment to be worn during some aspects of direct patient care.

SOME (COVID-19) RISK: Possible occupational exposure to residents or clients with COVID-19. May require personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn during some aspects or seasons of job.
