Full-time Paralegal

This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted February 23, 2021.

A union-side labor law firm in Seattle seeks a full-time paralegal to add to its team.

Examples of Responsibilities: Prepare, format, and proof pleadings and other legal documents and correspondence.Maintain electronic case files.Prepare materials for oral argument, arbitration, mediation, and other hearings as directed by paralegals and attorneys.Assist paralegals and attorneys in trial preparation and coordinating trial logistics; organize exhibits, witness materials, the trial notebook, and all other supporting documents.Perform administrative functions such as assisting in maintaining a paperless office by filing documents in document management system; perform word processing functions, e-filing, service and mailing of pleadings, documents, correspondence and courtesy copies, calendar deadlines.Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal court and agency rules.Create templates for case documents that comply with court and agency rules.Bill and keep time as directed by paralegals and attorneys.Prepare court records such as appendices, excerpts of record, clerk’s papers designations, etc.Schedule hearings, depositions, arbitrations, vendors (e.g.

court reporters) and trials as directed by paralegals or attorneys.Obtain transcripts, pleadings, and records.Other duties as assigned by paralegals or attorneys.Qualifications: Paralegal certificate/degree and/or experience in a legal support role (e.g.

legal assistant, legal secretary, practice assistant, paralegal assistant, or paralegal).Understands complex legal concepts and terminology.Familiarity with Federal, State, and local court rules and procedures, and the skills to find and understand those in other jurisdictions.Knowledge and/or ability to learn the various state and federal e-filing systems.Ability to be self-directed, organize, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to perform under tight deadlines and maintain patience in high pressure situations.Strong working knowledge of advanced functions of Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook and Excel), E-Copy, and Adobe.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
