Responsibilities Job Summary Under the direction of nursing leadership, serves as a leader and clinical resource to staff for a designated time period in the hospital. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating information flow within the Hospital, serving as resource person for problem-solving and decision-making, assigning break and lunch coverage, assigning patient care, coordinating patient placement, fulfilling pharmacy requirements, authorizing overtime and projecting staffing needs for the currentnext shift. Although an incumbent generally does not take routine patient assignments, it is expected that clinical assistance will be provided as needed. Essential Duties Serves as a leader and clinical resource to staff under the direction of nursing leadership assists staff with problem-solving and decision-making acts as a role model, demonstrating technicalclinical competence consistent with the needs of staff and the patient population collaborates with primary RN or team leader to ensure the planning and delivery of quality patient care in partnership with physician, interdisciplinary team and patientfamily. Delegates, coordinates and oversees clinical operations and patient placementunit staffing for hospital according to defined hospital standards. Responds appropriately and timely to disturbances, interruptions, and subtle and emergent changes in the work environment to minimize potential risks to hospital workflow. Supports and promotes initiatives of service recovery and assures communication for appropriate follow-up. Contributes to the development and evaluation of staff competency provides objective feedback to assist with staff performance throughout the review cycle. Assists with monitoring of regulatory requirements as defined by hospital facilitates essential communication related to patient care and operations communicates closely with and supports leadership team regarding daily hospital operations. Related Skills Nurse, Nursing, Hospital Resource, Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Nursing Leadership, RN Charge Qualifications EducationExperience Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Two years of experience in the clinical specialty within the last three years preferred. Prefer previous charge nurse experience. Possession of a BSN degree is preferred. LicenseCertification Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing. Current Healthcare BLS Certification.
