Located at Point Reyes’ award-winning boutique hotel Olema House, Due West is a sophisticated modern tavern housed in a cozily refurbished, circa-1865 building. Due West Tavern houses a vibrant, recently remodeled market, Due West Market, featuring house-baked items and signature on-the-go picnic staples. Due West is the ultimate stop-off point to fuel West Marin adventures where guests can enjoy fresh, locally sourced food and drinks in a relaxed yet refined setting, whether dine-in or on the go.We are currently interviewing for a Full-Time Event Coordinator! 1% Commission on all bookings evening, weekend & holiday availability required. The Event Coordinator is responsible for soliciting group/event/banquet business and ensuring customer satisfaction with all functions booked. Coordinate and supervise the execution of all banquet functions to ensure clients’ specifications are adhered to and that the banquets/events run smoothly and efficiently.Enforce company’s standards, policies and procedures with lodge/restaurant/market/bar staff. Motivate existing and temp staff to maintain a cohesive team. Devise a marketing plan to promote restaurant and generate more business. Assist with creating a program of lawn events to enhance lodge, restaurant, and market service for existing guests and generate more business.Ensure security and confidentiality of guest information.REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:Ability to:·Satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding in person and by telephone.·Provide legible communication·Basis computer skills·Compute basic mathematical calculations·Remain calm under pressure, making sound and logical decisions quickly.·Possess knowledge of food production and service and have the ability to perform all positions in banquet operations in order to supervise, direct, and train all banquet personnel.·Be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems, exercising good judgment.·Focus attention on details·Warm, friendly and welcoming personalityMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:·High school graduate.·Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.·Two years’ experience as a server, dining room manager or host. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:·Food handling certificate·Some college·Previous experience as a fine dining server·Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food serviceOlema House is a part of Mosaic Hotel Group’s collection of award-winning, boutique hotels.
