Site Reliability Engineering IC2


This is a Full-time position in Redmond, WA posted December 2, 2021.

The Azure Edge + Platform Engineering System (AE+P ES) organization is responsible for running one of the largest scale engineering systems in the industry.

Our services support the secure development and release of some of the most widely used products in the world.

The Artifact Services (AS) Team is responsible for managing storage, access, and retention of content produced in AE+P ES through large scale, highly reliable services.

These services bridge the gap between producers and consumers of content, and are responsible for managing the content for its lifecycle.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in compiled languages such as C#, C++, or Java and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • Familiarity with both cloud infrastructure such as Azure or AWS, and bare-metal hardware infrastructure
  • Familiarity with telemetry systems and querying languages such as Azure or AWS Data Lake, Azure Data Explorer, Apache Spark, or Splunk
  • Familiarity with debugging OS and hardware issues
  • Solid design and coding skills
  • BS or MS in computer science, related degree, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and managing services in a development, operations, and site reliability engineering role
  • Ability to both lead and collaborate within and across teams effectively
  • Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, and maintaining online services, especially architectures at scale
  • Experience with using telemetry to understand customer usage patterns as well as to diagnose and drive improvements to production services
  • Experience with debugging OS and hardware issues to diagnose and drive solutions to issues impacting production services
