This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted October 1, 2021.

Derby serves upscale comfort food and we are looking for a new leader in the kitchen for the first time since opening 4 years ago. 

This is truly a unique opportunity to lead a kitchen, work with great people and have the full support of ownership.

While Derby restaurant is open to the public it’s located inside a private social club called The Shop.

From the very beginning we wanted the food to speak for itself and let the Chef have creative freedom to deliver great food while staying true to our few signature dishes.  Pre Covid Derby was open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, as well as brunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday.

Currently we are on a 5 day schedule Wednesday to Sunday.

Ideally we want a Rockstar Chef who can do it all.  A leader who rolls up their sleeves and not only sets high expectations but also knows how to hire and motivate a staff to exceed them.  We need a Chef who can orchestrate lunch, dinner and brunch menus as well as deliver on in-house events. 

Required Skills for the Role:

1.

Natural Leader and problem solver while always being the calmest person in the room performing a massive amount of simultaneous tasks. 

2.

Have realistic but high expectations of yourself and your team.

3.

Have managed a kitchen in a restaurant with $2 million in annual revenue.

4.

Have at least 3 years of relevant management experience.

5.

Have positive, customer first, solution oriented DNA in your blood.

COMPENSATION: Depending on experience we are paying a base salary of $70,000 to $100,000 with health benefits and paid vacations.
