To reduce DRS’ reliance on legacy applications and improve our services to customers, the CORE Pension Administration Modernization project team, will procure and implement a modified off the shelf (MOTS) pension administration solution over the next six years.

A MOTS pension administration solution will deliver functionality proven in other pension organizations with similar business processes and program characteristics.This position is responsible for implementing DRS’ vision by successfully planning for and implementing this project.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for using advance knowledge of a wide range of project management principles, concepts, and practices to implement this strategic project.

This includes using people management skills, effective communication, and established project controls to effectively implement the agency’s strategic goals and objectives for this project within the agreed upon scope, budget, and timeframe.As the CORE Senior Project Manager you will direct, guide, manage, and assign work to a large, multi-disciplinary project team that will plan, design, and implement a major strategic, technology and business modernization project.

You will be responsible for building the DRS project team with support from the Executive Steering Committee.

 The project team will vary in size over the course of the project from 25 to 50 who are either assigned to the project full-time or matrixed DRS team members and multiple vendors.

You must be skilled in staff development and vendor management to ensure people are seamlessly integrated into the project at various phases.Desirable qualifications:* Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Administration, or closely related field;* Active project management professionals (PMP) certification;* At least ten (10) years of progressive experience as a Project Manager of high-risk projects;* Demonstrated ability to select, lead, direct, coach, mentor, inspire, develop and support team members;* Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making and consultative skills;* Experience managing vendor contracts and relationships;* Proficient with Microsoft Project; * Experience implementing a major system replacement project within the past three years;* Experience with enterprise business transformation projects;* Experience managing and controlling IT project budgets of at least $5 million; and* Demonstrated proficiency in the following competency areas:Commitment to DiversityRecognizes the value of diversity.
