Zulily is looking for a Director of Merchandising to lead our women’s apparel division.

The Director of Merchandising will own the women’s apparel business and will lead a team of merchants to identify and deliver growth strategies for Zulily’s women’s apparel division.

The ideal candidate has a passion for developing and deploying long-term customer centric strategies.

Reporting directly into the Vice President of Fashion, the Director of Merchandising demonstrates superior innovative and strategic thinking, along with the ability to work creatively while navigating fluctuating constraints and maximizing growth.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, goal-oriented, and analytical leader with strong leadership experience and a background in ecommerce merchandising.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/CORE ACCOUNTABILITIESOversee management of the Women’s Apparel vendor portfolio.

Strengthen existing vendor alliances through strategic planning, continuously identify opportunities for vendor growth.

Develop strategic relationships with key vendors.Directly manage leaders in merchandising to surprise and delight our customers.

Set direction for the team in line with Zulily’s overall business strategy.Identify new and current market trends and drive product strategies that meet the evolving wants and needs of our customers.Lead team in identification and development of new brands, products and concepts that align with Zulily brand.Look for interdepartmental dependencies and leverage resources to ensure follow through on both short-term and long-term plans to meet or exceed Zulily company goals.

Accountable for delivering on demand, pricing, margin, and supply strategies for Women’s Apparel division, ensuring team resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.Lead development of division specific event calendar to optimize division demand and margin, ensure new, fresh styles and events on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.Identify, develop and lead complex strategic initiatives within the Merchandising organization and across the business.Act as a spokesperson to external market to raise awareness, shape the image and enhance the position of Zulily.Build and develop strong relationships across the business, driving collaborative efforts across multiple functions including, Vendor Operations, Site Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, and FinanceBuild and develop a cohesive team of high-performing, strategic, data-driven merchants to drive continuous improvementActively recruit, mentor, and develop team members and peers across the merchandising organizationBASIC QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years’ experience within retail, including a minimum of 5+ years in an e-commerce environment5+ years’ experience at the management level leading an organization of at least 10 team membersDemonstrated ability to think strategically, direct creativity, and bolster innovation using extensive business acumen and quantitative skills.Strong understanding of merchandising financials and experience managing a large budget or P&LDemonstrated ability to build and lead a team, assess and manage performance, and drive continuous improvement.Job ID: R51343-ENEmployment Type: RegularJob Area: Merchandising & PlanningFunction: Merchandising PlannerIndustry: Retail Services General
