As a Senior Manager, SDET, you will be hands on and will be responsible for leading a team of highly capable and committed engineers working on Splunk’s Microservices Platform. You will have a large impact on leading and architecting the testing platform/strategy for Microservices and transformation from Monolithic to Microservices. This role will provide the opportunity to be immersed in both platform and microservices on Splunk cloud with exposure to a full portfolio of technology areas.

You are an expert in distributed computing and cloud platforms including security and identity. You have a passion for scaled-up multi-tenant architecture. What You’ll Do:

  • Hire, lead and grow a team of cloud platform SDETs and Sr. engineers.
  • Own and deliver platform and services testing roadmap in collaboration with Product Managers and Development.
  • Technically mentor the team through test development and Dev Ops on-call process.
  • Collaborate with peers and build the best in class cloud development model.
  • Actively seek initiatives to accelerate the platform’s performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Drive for Automation. You constantly consider, “How can I automate this manual process?” and inspire teams to embrace this philosophy.
  • Innovation. You will invent creative new solutions to test features and functionality where there are no standard quality practices.


  • 10+ years actively developing and/or managing to cloud-native technologies.
  • Demonstrable foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design for cloud.
  • Experience with developing models for cloud-native architectures (Microservices SOA, CI-CD, security, compliance etc) at cloud scale.
  • Managed teams of 8-10 people with a demonstrable team and product success
  • Familiarity and prior experience developing features, functional and cloud automation in GoLang, Kubernetes, Python, JavaScript or Java.
  • Experience testing frameworks and SDKs in microservices architectures.
  • Experience dealing with Dev Ops and Customer Escalations.
  • Have strong communication skills.

Highly preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience testing cloud platforms from grounds up.
  • Prior experience testing hybrid cloud connectivity solutions.


  • Requires 4+ years of management experience and 12 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience or 2 to 4 years of management experience and 8 years and a Master’s degree, or a Ph.D. with 1 to 3 years of management experience and 5 years’ experience; or equivalent practical experience.
