Proposal Manager

Job Description:This position can be based out of any of our US offices.The Proposal Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the development of proposals and other marketing and business development materials.

This hands-on position will play a key role in proposal development activities, fully supporting the Marketing team and leading the team through a winning proposal.Lead most proposals and requests for responses for designated practice areas.Lead strategic and high-profile proposals firm-wide as assigned.Lead or serve as secondary proposal manager on high-profile and preferred provider requests for responses as assigned.Ensure all data gathering and processing for the firm”s proposals and pitches are accurate, consistent and submitted timely.Actively collaborate with partners, marketing managers, and other key stakeholders to develop clear, compelling, winning proposals.Follow the firm”s proposal processes and work to refine and improve, developing a competitive strategy, preparing the interview team, and debriefing the firm”s team.Assist in drafting and editing proposal templates, as well as maintain the templates and disclosure requirements on firm wide and regional pitch book elements such as client names, profiles, experience lists, attorney biographies.General oversight for a centralized proposal management database system and support compilation, analysis, and reporting of various metrics.Develop, organize, and manage content for proposal documents within the firm”s proposal generator tool.Work with design to develop creative and information graphics.Participate in regular meetings.

Develop and present activity reports that summarize activity, success rate, and progress on initiatives.Lead or assist with special projects as assigned.Skills:The ideal candidate must place a high value on client service and operational excellence, possess excellent communication skills (oral and written), and be a successful team player.

Strong abilities in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel are required.

Experience working with proposal generating software a plus.

The candidate must be detail-oriented with excellent project management skills and be able to prioritize and multitask within a fast-paced, challenging, and deadline-driven environment.

They must have the ability to quickly grasp specialist knowledge and anticipate potential issues and devise contingency plans.

The candidate must have a proven ability to effectively work with all levels of personnel.

General understanding of the business of law is preferred.Experience & Education:This position requires a Bachelor”s degree and minimum of 7 years of marketing in professional services.

Law firm experience beneficial.

MBA or JD a plus, but not required.
